AeroVironment, Inc. is an American defense contractor headquartered in Simi Valley, California, that is primarily involved in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Paul B. MacCready, Jr., a designer of human-powered aircraft, founded the company in 1971.

I was hired to develop a 40th anniversary brand concept that would make this defense contractor “more relatable, warm and friendly.” Along with the lead designer and creative writer, we created the brand concept, “Human Power”. It extolled AeroVironment’s desire to accomplish positive change, its passion to achieve remarkable solutions, and an imagination that envisions the technological wonders that will make the world a safer, cleaner, better place for all humankind.

I was the overall account manager responsible for securing and developing the business, from proposal to project oversight, to determining scope and hiring the creative writer for brand concept development, and assembling the team to execute.

We created a series of posters for trade shows and events, five annual reports, sales sheets, trade ads, and corporate communication collateral, as well as webpage templates for their corporate website. The campaign received great notice within the industry and won several trade awards.
